Vitale Barberis Canonico / Woolrich

Woolrich is proud to introduce Vitale Barberis Canonico as our partner as we celebrate their history, precious fabrics, material sourcing, sustainable production, traceability, and shared values. With a heritage dating back to 1663, learn more about our garments made from the iconic Italian fabric mill.

A vertical production process

There are seven steps with more than 200 operations in Vitale Barberis Canonico's vertical production process, all Made in Italy: washing, gilling, spinning, dyeing, warping, weaving, and finishing. Working on all aspects of wool production through innovative automation and superior quality control, each step ensures high-quality, long-lasting materials.

Brushed flannel with membrane

To gain rainproof and windproof performance, the brushed flannel is coupled with a fine 10-12 micron membrane that is lightweight, soft and fluid, designed to ensure performance without affecting the quality and hand of the fabric. The surface is treated with the exclusive PFC-free Eco Water Repellent treatment. We have used this fabric for some of our outerwear.

Heritage and innovation

Their three pillars of sustainability are People, the Environment, and Products. The company takes care of its employees through safe and healthy workplaces; purifies waste water through an in-company treatment plant and purchases energy from certified renewable resources; and selects the best natural raw materials, obtained respecting animals and the environment, with a transparent and traceable supply chain.
